How Maui slowed the sun

Me and Jayden retold the story of 'How Maui slowed the sun'. We used Drawing Pad to make the pictures in the movie and we used AutoDraw and Book Creator to make to all of the photos.

We made it into a movie and a book of the story.

Dear Diary,

I’m so excited about my new job. Last night, on my first night I found a secret hallway by the Discovery Area. It was near the dinosaurs. I was doing my rounds with a torch when I heard a BANG! I have to admit that I was kind of scared. Don’t tell the boss that, she’d fire me.

The noise was coming from the mummy area so I decided to take a look. Surprisingly, the mummy tomb was smashed into little pieces and a strange shuffling, moaning noise was coming from behind me. The mummy was standing right behind me! My heart was pounding.

I ran away from the mummy. It chased me to the Maori area where I hid in the cave.  I had a bit of a think and made a plan. In the kitchen there was some rope and I thought it would help me catch the mummy. My trap was a clever idea because it would catch the Mummy by the foot like the Maori caught their birds years ago.

I bravely stood up and shouted…. “Mummy, I am over here!”  It shuffled over, bumping into the tables and chairs but before it noticed my rope, it was trapped.

It was pretty quiet in the museum for the rest of the night until I heard my boss arrive. I didn’t know how I was going to explain that the Mummy had come alive.

Harrison birthday party

           Harrison birthday party!

On saturday it was Harrison birthday party. When we got there we had a play and then we played a game. I loved the game.Then we played the chocolate game. In the chocolate game you have to to put on a beny and a schiff and chop up the chocolate with a knife a fork then eat it until someone roul a six with a diece I did not want turn.

Then we had the preson and I gave harrison a game when you put the hat on and you put water in it and you have to pall out the long stick and one of them will make the water come out and sometimes it not come out and then you are safe.

Then we had a teacher haunt for the treather hunt we were groups and and I was in Harrison group for and a game like a thresher hunt I loved it but you had to find things and make a sentences. Harrison was the our leader then we were given a piece of paper and we had to got to the place in harrison house and around the garden we have to do the it in order we would have to go to where it is and go back to myer and tele here where it is.

On the piece of paper is a clue and we had to do challenges were somewhere around the house and we had to do things like throw a basketball in a hop and we had to do it until you got it into the hop two times. Then we did some thing’s more like find the balls wily you are blindfolded and put it in a container and then we took off our shoes and put them at the door.

Then we came inside to have something to eat like sausages and chips and lollies and for a drink we had lmp.Then we had a little play then we had Harrison birthday cake and I loved the cake. After that we had a long long play then we went home but Jayden and James  wanted to to stay there because it was very fun.

What makes axolotls weird?

An axolotl is a very strange creature. If you saw one in a pet shop you might even scream!

They look very weird because their frill on the outside. Scientists have tried to make a double headed axolotl I don't know if they succeeded in their test. If a limb is ripped off an axolotl it will regenerate again so it is hard to kill them.

The axolotls eat their food whole without a single bite and sometimes the female axolotl eats the male axolotl because  the female axolotl is bigger than the male axolotl. The axolotl sometimes eats the babies because they think it is food.

As you can see, these are very strange creatures. You should get into a pet shop and have a look at one.

Fidget spinners will stay still if you don’t put another forces on it. They have no momentum if they are not moving. You can only stop them when you put another force on it that is called Newton's first law of motion.

Fidget spinners have little balls inside the middle bearing it has three bearing around the middle bearing to make it even so it won't be wobble when you spin it.

Fidget spinners only have momentum when they are spinning and they spin slow down when they  are spinning slowly.

Can fidget spinners spin in the water?

How clouds work

Once upon a time there was a bald old man called bob and his grandson called toby. Bob opened a wooden case with little toby looking at something that looked like a big bubble blower.

Toby and bob looked at the sky and and Bob put it up and took a deep breath and made a cloud toby tried to but he made a small cloud bob shode toby how. Toby tried again but toby snapped it.

Bob was sad and shocked. As bob gassed at the cloud in the distance it started to shrink but Toby started to twist and Toby made a star then Bob blow and a star shape came out and then toby made teddy bear and a love hart. The end  

   

Lily and the snowman

On one gloomy night as the snowflakes were falling down, Lily was making a snowman. She put a bendy carrot on for is nose and a huge smile on his face.

Lily finished and jumped up and down with joy. Suddenly the snowman waved it’s sticky hand. He had come alive. The snowman looked at his hand as moon shone. He saw a reflection on the back fence. The snowman started to make a bird with his fingers. Lily loved hearing the story of all the things the bird could see.

Next came a horse leaping over a canyon then people kissing under an umbrella. Lily looked up and she saw the snowman melting. She had a great idea.  Grabbing a wheelbarrow, she put the snowman in the freezer at the back of the garage. Lilly gave the snowman her teddy bear for comfort in the dark.

Every night for years, Lily and the snowman would sit in the backyard sharing stories. As Lily got older she got more busy and forgot to visit the snowman for stories.

As time passed, boxes stacked up in the garage, new cars came and went. The snowman was still in the freezer as the garage door closed.  

In a large city and in a tall building sat Lily. She was busy working as the snowflakes were falling outside. She tipped over her mug which knocked over her lamp. The light from the lamp shone through the snow globe and made a shadow of a snowman. Suddenly she remembered about the snowman in the freezer all alone.  

Lily grabs her jacket and car keys then rushed back home. In the garage Lily  had to shift all the stuff away to reach the freezer. Behind the icicles sat the snowman who still had the same twinkle in his eyes.

From then on, Lily always sat out at the back of the house to enjoy a story with the snowman. Years later her little girl enjoyed the stories too.

The Sleep Over

On Saturday James and Harry were at a cricket game. After that James went with Harry to his house. When we got back on the scooters with Sally and Max then when we got there we played for five minutes.

Later we went back to grab our togs so we could go to Halswell Pool. When we got there we jumped into the pool and played a pirate game. Then we got an ice block and we went home.

Later that night was the best bit - movie time in our PJs. My favourite movie was Matilda and I stayed all night till 4:30 the next day. Mum wasn’t very pleased when I turned up home drenched from the sprinkler. Ahh well, we had lots of fun.

Moon Story

On a dark night when the owls are hooting and the trees are swishing from side to side. Ruby was pulling up a bucket from a well.

Ruby looked at moon but when she looked again, it was gone.

The Moon-creature was watching Ruby and she looked back and she saw it and she screamed  in horror.

The Moon ran away in fright and hid in the trees then poked up and the light shone on the ground. It looked like skeleton’s hands poking out from ground.

The Moon stood up behind the gloomy trees and then he sneezed lunar dust and it look like floating stars around Ruby's head.

Ruby looked up and she saw the creature zooming to her and it had got some fences and it look like dagley charms. Then he picked her up in his spreckley fingers and he pulled out Ruby’s bucket.

The creature flew up. When Ruby looked in the bucket she saw his reflection. At night she remembered him as a friend and she said ‘See you tomorrow’.
